Not a very useful app. Poorly designed and adds no benefit compared to the website. Increases confusion.

This app is just a wrapper for the city website, and its clunky. The website - and thus the app - currently do not show a snow emergency in effect (11:55) even though I got an automated email from the city declaring a snow emergency (11:13). Dont rely on this. Use the website in conjunction with email alerts.
Push notifications would be really welcome. Please. Please please please
I think apps like these are what makes smart phones and tablets shine. However, I didnt notice any settings for notifications. Yes, you can follow the link to the cities website but notifications when a snow emergency is declared would put this app in a much better position. Get that taken care of and I can easily do 5 stars!
Just what we need in Minneapolis with all of this infernal weather we have!
needs notifications to be great but this is a very handy app thank you. also if it told you what day of the snow emergency it is that would also help.
There is nothing here that isnt on the web. In fact, the street finder refers you to a page on the web that didnt work on my iPhone 5. Bottom line: if I have to go into a desk browser, I dont need this app cluttering up my phone.
It has the rules for each day of a snow emergency and then links to the webpage in safari if you try to look up a street (and the map wont properly load.) This app needs features beyond those found on the web page...
Some reviewers expect way too much out of a version 1.0 app. Yeah, it might lack notifications but Mpls does a fantastic job getting the word out in so many different ways already - the city has SMS and email alerts for snow emergencies, so yes you can live without a TV or radio, and still get direct, automated alerts if you want to. The description clearly states it lacks alerts, but fails to indicate if there are future plans to add this (which, admittedly, would be nice), which one could only hope. So lighten up, at least our City cares enough to try to reach out in so many different ways even though their app could use some work.
I saw a buddy from Facebook posted this and so I downloaded it as well. I received a call from the city of Minneapolis about the snow emergency but I forgot what side to park on, so I busted out my phone and checked this app and come morning my car was still their. Thanks to all that made this app:)
I like the rules, but it really needs to show if there is a snow emergency in effect right now. Notifications would be ideal, but at least show what day of the snow emergency you are on. I get that they are concerned with people relying on old information, but I find that unlikely.
This really does nothing, we can use our phones to look at the website that will tell us the same info. The app tells u to call or go to the web page to see if there is an emergency.
This app could have been SO MUCH better. It doesnt even tell you if theres a Snow Emergency in effect!!! Heres how to earn a 5-star rating: --Push Notifications for when a Snow Emergency is in effect. --Allow the app the show the user the current status and day # of the Snow Emergrncy. --GPS-enabled mapping of your current locations parking status. (This is so simple and obvious, Im astounded its not included. Its as if the person who came up with this has never used a smartphone.) --An interface that doesnt look like it was designed in the late-90s. This app in its current form is nothing more than a bookmark to the website. Utterly pointless.
Map that application navigates to does not work.
I couldnt get the MPLS snow emergency website map to load properly on my phone (safari) so I downloaded this hoping that an app built specifically for iphone would offer a solution. I got an "app" that links directly to the site anyway, offering the same sporadic loading of the map with the additional frustration of awful navigational controls. Also, for the past few hours Ive received a "server not found-try again later" error, which makes the whole thing moot anyway. I love the citys texting alerts-but living and navigating downtown during a snow emergency goes beyond the normal "odd/even" rules of thumb and a proper map at the ready would be great.
This app is pretty useless. Why would I use an app that is going to just pointless back to the website? It needs to tell you if a snow emergency has been declared, what day of the snow emergency it currently is, and then list the parking rules. Push notifications would be great, but even just having he I formation available on the app without the notifications would be helpful.
App is completely useless. Your app needs to notify the user of a snow emergency, or whats the point of even offering an app?!
Its a handy guide, but needs push notifications.
While this is a great app for knowing when there are snow emergency days, you shouldnt have to just regularly check for snow emergency days. One solution to this app: Push notifications for when there are snow emergency days.
What day of the snow emergency you are in.
